About the role

Join ACMI as a Registrar to lead and support registration delivery activities for temporary, permanent, and touring exhibition projects. This includes logistical and collection management system requirements, analysis of and input into standards, resources, systems and procedures and collaboration with Collections & Preservation and other key internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time ongoing role reporting to the Lead Registrar.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience and professional training in exhibition and collection registration, including Time-Base media and digital works, game-based works and object handling and exhibition production practices together with a sound knowledge of current industry standards pertaining to collections and exhibition practices.
  • Well-developed work organisation skills including the demonstrated ability to prioritise multiple competing timelines, meet strict deadlines and use initiative in problem solving; operate effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with capacity to contribute to the review and implementation of systems and processes, understand emerging trends and the potential application of new technology in this field.
  • Experience using collection management systems and web-based applications for exhibition registration and project management.
  • Sound understanding of OH&S requirements and safe working practices as they relate to the exhibition production environment.
