ABOUT THE POSITION:The purpose of this position is to provide effective specialist technology procurement advice and services to the organisation, including timely and efficient technology budget support and management.

Some of the key duties include: 

  • Supports and advises on the entire technology procurement process from start to finish, including documentation of all tender management, exemptions, leasing, and procurement records.
  • Administers technology procurement arrangements and procurement proposals in accordance with Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) standards.
  • Collaborates with category leads/managers and business line stakeholders to comprehend the Museum’s specialist technology goals, supplier environment, lifecycle management, and ways to enhance technology project results.
  • Working closely with the Technology Procurement Manager, resolves more complex technology procurement queries from internal and external clients.
  • The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Broad technology procurement experience and knowledge, preferably within state government procurement processes (with exposure to the Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) framework and compliance rules, including government State Purchase Contracts, desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of various technology procurement categories including hardware, software, and professional services.
  • Strong commercial, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to provide information to all levels of staff and prepare accurate and clear documentation and deliver presentations and reports.
  • Ability to manage workload under limited direction.
