Curatorial is one of three teams reporting to the Director, Curatorial, Collections and Exhibitions. The Curatorial team is primarily responsible for the curatorial programs and projects covering the collection’s development, research, interpretation and access through an innovative multidisciplinary approach to exhibitions, online and print content, public and educational programs and initiatives.
As the Principal Curator you lead, direct and motivate the Senior Curatorial team in contributing to the Curatorial Business Plan. You will work collaboratively and within interdisciplinary teams to provide a high level of curatorial expertise directed towards research, collection development, collection access, public and educational programs and initiatives to meet MAAS strategic and business objectives and support MAAS as the leading museum of applied arts and sciences.
You will provide support to the Head of Curatorial in reviewing and evaluating policies, procedures and operational plans pertaining to the Curatorial team, including setting direction and providing input into the overall long and short term priorities for the Curatorial Team. In addition you will assist in managing risk and resources in the Curatorial Team, including sound financial and contract management; and prepare scope and business cases for projects and resources impacts, and reporting.
