World Science Festival Brisbane explores and celebrates the entanglement of science and art through a curated program of thought-provoking conversations, inspiring theatrical and cinematic experiences, major outdoor events and education activities.

The Nucleus is at the centre of the World Science Festival Brisbane festivities. It is lounge room meets laboratory with interesting programming from talks to trivia and comedy plus live music and family programming throughout the day.

The Producer will program and coordinate delivery of the World Science Festival Brisbane Nucleus activation. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience developing and delivering live events and music programs, a positive, flexible attitude, and an interest in STEM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Producer, Nucleus will:

  • Based on an overarching program framework, curate, develop and produce the Nucleus program of live music and events.
  • Use existing networks in the arts and creative industries to identify appropriate performances and high-profile performers attractive to audiences of all ages for the event. Use creative producing skills to produce event-specific performances if required.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the Nucleus program in accordance with agreed timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the producing team to link the Nucleus with the broader curatorial vision, program, schedule, site design and installations.
  • Develop a detailed delivery schedule, manage program information in the event system.
  • Collaborate with the Site team, communicating requirements for the purposes of site design, infrastructure, services and management.
  • Provide timely program content for events within your control for marketing and online content.
  • Using templates, prepare plans, agreements, running orders and risk analyses for events and activities within your control and file in accordance with agreed procedure.
  • Under direction, manage the program budget, financial approvals and procurement of program-related services.
  • Actively participate in working parties comprised of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with Queensland Museum Network policies, procedures and appropriate legislation.
  • Contribute to the safety culture of Queensland Museum Network by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all Queensland Museum Network WHS policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job.
