THE OPPORTUNITY:

Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a dynamic Producer, Public Programs to produce and deliver exceptional public programs and events aligned to Museums Victoria’s vision, mission, and business objectives to engage and build our diverse audiences, with a core focus on Immigration Museum audiences, and Melbourne Museum audiences as required.

Working as part of a multi-museum public programs, education and events team the role requires a highly organised, responsive individual who is an excellent communicator and committed to exceptional audience experiences.

Key duties of this position include:  

  1. Co-ordinate, develop and deliver exceptional public programs, events, and digital programs, to ensure audience engagement objectives, experience outcomes, and key business objectives are met.
  2. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, identify trends, audience insights and opportunities to refine program strategies to effectively attract and engage culturally and socially diverse audiences.
  3. Manage staff, communications, budgets and resources to produce exceptional programs.
  4. Maintain administrative systems, procedures and schedules to ensure effective co-ordination of programs     and associated performance reporting.
  5. Develop stakeholder relationships, partnerships, and professional networks, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, to support the Museum and Public Programs department’s objectives including opportunities to increase audience representation and visitation, and visibility, support and advocacy for programs and other initiatives.
  6. Initiate and monitor audience evaluation and marketing of programs and use data to support continuous improvement of program outcomes and to align to Museums Victoria’s brand and quality expectations.
  7. Contribute to a workplace culture that is diverse, innovative, responsive, inclusive, safe and which reflects Museums Victoria’s values.
  8. Comply with Museum Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations eg Child Safe Standards.
