Responsible for the development and delivery of the Museum Australia Western Australia State Conference in October 2016 and related professional development. Fixed term contract at 0.6 FTE (45 hrs per f/n)

OBJECTIVES
- To develop and deliver the Museums Australia Western Australia State Conference in line with the current strategic and operational goals of the organisation.
- To develop effective partnerships and relationships within the museums, galleries, keeping places cultural centres sector in support of the Museums Australia Western Australia State Conference.
- To investigate funding opportunities and sources to sustain Museums Australia Western Australia State Conference and related professional development and networking activities.
- To assist in the deliver professional development and networking activities in a range of delivery modes
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the collections / heritage or visual arts sectors
- Excellent oral communications skills for liaising with members and stakeholder groups, and building collaborative partnerships and working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to develop and co-ordinate a conference and professional development program
- Demonstrated planning and project management skills
- Demonstrated report writing skills and written communication;
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking abilities;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team;
- Possession of a current “C” Class drivers license; and National Police Clearance.
Desirable:
Tertiary qualification in communications, education, arts, history or similar
