Program Assistant (Fabrication Lab)

State Library of Queensland is looking for a dynamic maker to help us deliver the Fabrication Lab to the Queensland community. You will have a practical understanding of digital fabrication technology, a love of working and supporting people to meet their making needs and a passionate curiosity of what’s possible in a contemporary library maker space.

As Program Assistant (Fabrication Lab), you will be part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality programs, services and resources to our clients. You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Fabrication Lab, including, coordinating of our spaces, volunteers and managing the maintenance of equipment and inventory.

You will deliver equipment inductions to the general public and supervise access to the Fabrication Lab’s equipment including 3D printers, laser cutter and CNC routers. You will bring a practical understanding of digital design and fabrication techniques, and a capacity to learn new digital fabrication techniques as required.

As a member of the Applied Creativity team you will assist in the development and delivery of public programs and projects. This role will involve regular weekend and evening shifts. A working with children/Blue Card check is required, as this position has child-related duties.
