Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a skilled Program Coordinator Life Sciences to develop and deliver innovative programs for diverse audiences as part of Museums Victoria’s Education and Community Programs department. The primary responsibility of the Programs Coordinator, Life Sciences is to develop and deliver innovative education programs that meet Museums Victoria’s objectives and priorities, consistent with the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET). These programs are educational and creative and contribute to the broader Museums Victoria audience experience as well as develop audiences from Early Learning to Tertiary, Adult & Further Education sectors. The role contributes to the development of new partnerships with universities and education organizations.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Programs Coordinator, Life Sciences is to develop and deliver innovative education programs that meet Museums Victoria’s objectives and priorities, consistent with the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET). These programs are educational and creative and contribute to the broader Museums Victoria audience experience as well as develop audiences from Early Learning to Tertiary, Adult & Further Education sectors. The role contributes to the development of new partnerships with universities, education organisations and industry, as well as maintain and deepen the relationship with existing partners and networks.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Extensive knowledge of the curriculum areas of Biological and Earth Science Sciences and awareness of current issues in Early Learning, Foundation to VCE, Tertiary and adult education;
- Proven ability to develop innovative curriculum materials and programs for teachers and students, meeting the needs of diverse learners. Direct experience within any of the following areas is desirable: biology, palaeontology, geology, or related subjects;
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with key stakeholders, particularly professional teaching organisations, and/or school communities, and relevant science organisations; and
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead projects, ensuring that targets and objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes.
