MAAS currently operates three sites, the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo, Sydney Observatory in Millers Point and Museums Discovery Centre in Castle Hill. In April 2018, the NSW Government announced the largest investment in museum infrastructure in Australia’s history, which will enable MAAS to expand its operations, and will ensure the Museum and its collection remain a critical part of our local and global communities for centuries to come.

The opportunity
As Program Coordinator, you will coordinate the effective delivery of the Museum’s programs events and activities at the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo. You will work closely with team members at the Powerhouse Museum and across other MAAS sites to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for all Museum program participants. This role may require some travel between MAAS sites and occasional out-of-hours work to support programs and events.
Your key accountabilities in this role will include:
- Liaise closely with relevant team members to set up and operationalise programs and events
- Prepare rosters and schedules for public and education programs and activities
- Coordinate daily site briefings and debriefings
- Arrange training for Museum staff and volunteers
- Coordinate the maintenance of equipment, spaces and other materials required for the delivery of programs
- Facilitate customer enquiries to ensure a high level of customer service
- Assist with the collection of data and feedback from programs
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Excellent communications and customer service skills.
- Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel
