Museum Victoria is seeking a Programs Manager, Community Engagement to co-ordinate the development and delivery of community engagement programs and events for broad and specific audiences accessing Museum Victoria’s museums and Discovery services, including online resources and experiences.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is accountable for co-ordinating the development and delivery of community engagement programs and events to ensure that Museum Victoria’s objectives and priorities, particularly audience engagement, are met.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience in event and program research, development, delivery, branding and co-ordination of public programs for broad and specific audiences within the arts and cultural sector
  2. Knowledge of community development practices for the engagement of broad audiences and programming in a museum context.
  3. Proven associations and demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people including community groups, external stakeholders, volunteers, community partners, government and non-government organisations, community associations and other relevant agencies.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of the Victorian cultural environment including proven associations and connections within the Galleries, Libraries and Museums sector.
  5. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in organisational governance and practice including budget management, financial reporting, acquittal process, grant and submission writing and program evaluation practice.
  6. Ability to lead project teams and manage issues that arise in the day-to-day delivery of programs and events
  7. Ability to lead, manage and develop staff and work effectively in a networked organisation
  8. The successful applicant is required to undergo, and for new employees meet the cost of, a Working with Children Check.
