Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Program Manager, Public Programs and Events to drive the successful coordination and delivery of world-class public programs and events activity in line with Museums Victoria’s strategy. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and audience-focused environment. The position will play an important role in the Public Programs and Education team coordinating planning and ongoing delivery of a diversity of audience-focused public programs and events across our museums and online.
Working as part of a multi-site public programs team, and working with internal and external stakeholders, key key duties of this position include:
- Coordination of Museums Victoria’s public engagement activities and their planning, resourcing and scheduling inter-dependencies to contribute to achieving the mission of Museums Victoria.
- Management of public programs teams, and liaising with diverse stakeholders, to ensure individual programs and events deliver excellent audience and business outcomes, and that the overall program of activities performs successfully as a whole.
- Employment of program management tools and technologies to co-ordinate programs, schedules and resources and to carry out performance reporting
- Effective and regular communication of the forward schedule of public program activity to key teams and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head, Public Programs, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced program manager to apply their program and project management skills, their GLAM sector knowledge, and their experience in delivering successful audience experiences. This is a full-time, ongoing role, and requires some night and weekend availability.
