ACMI is the national museum of film, television, videogames, digital culture and art. Exploring the rapid evolution and astonishing creativity of the moving image, ACMI is the most successful museum of its kind in the world attracting 1.5 million visitors each year to its Federation Square site, and 450,000 to its national and international touring programs.

The museum is currently closed, as we deliver a visionary $40m redevelopment that will transform the institution, overhauling our permanent exhibition. ACMI’s Federation Square site is planned for re-launch in mid-2020.

Reporting to the Head of ACMI X & Public Programs and working as a part of a team of programmers and across ACMIs curatorial and creative teams, the Programmer Public Programs is expected to lead and contribute to the delivery of activities as part of an integrated public offer to drive audience engagement with ACMI’s annual program at our Federation Square museum, ACMIX and off-site. The role provides expertise in the design and delivery of festivals, talks, symposia, workshops, performances, commissions, masterclasses etc. The role seeks, secures and nurtures creative relationships and partnerships to ensure that ACMIs programs are artistically and culturally vibrant and promote ACMIs leadership in cultural and creative industries.

With the requirement to conceive, plan and deliver a broad range of programs that contribute to ACMIs curatorial, cultural, partnership and business plans and strategies the ideal candidate will integrate ACMIs cultural, commercial and creative offer in order to drive visitation, income and engagement.

Demonstrated knowledge of trends in programming in the creative industries and cultural sector in Melbourne and nationally and internationally with specialist knowledge in one or more areas of program design for audience engagement across life-long learning, families, youth, industry, professional development, community will be at the heart of this role.

This ongoing Grade 4 role is offered on a full-time basis with commencing salary of $85,279 plus super. To apply, follow the online application process on our website.
