Duties

  1. Lead and manage the performance and development of the Program team to create, co-ordinate, deliver and support high quality audience-focused programs that support and enhance TMAG objectives. Actively manage performance and change initiatives, develop, mentor, coach and empower team members and inspire a positive attitude to work success and delivery of high quality outcomes.
  2. Develop and provide the creative design for the program framework and provide and manage the conception, development, delivery and maintenance of audience engagement strategies and projects across the museum, including integration of public program with exhibitions, online programming and the rapid development and delivery of innovative short-term public program projects. This includes major events, festivals and education programming. Evaluate programming to facilitate a dynamic, iterative and innovative approach.
  3. Manage, develop and implement community engagement strategies and ensure a co-ordinated and effective approach to the provision of advice to and consultation with the community. Provide authoritative advice and recommendations to the Deputy Director and other TMAG staff in relation to community engagement strategies, partnerships and programming.
  4. Oversight project management across the Program team including identification and diagnosis of issues, financial and budget management, procurement, scheduling, monitoring deliverables, stakeholder and risk management and contracting external and casual delivery staff.
  5. Establish and proactively manage key partnerships. This includes TMAG internal/ partnership events management, including Festival relationships/ partnerships.   Build partnerships with other stakeholders and teams of curatorial, educational and marketing professionals on the development of programs that support interpretation of the museums exhibitions and collections. Identify and build new and innovative relationships with diverse stakeholders across a wide range of sectors.
  6. Promote best practice approaches to program delivery and keep abreast of developments in delivering contemporary programs to a diverse audience.
