Auckland Museum is offering a 2.5 year fixed term employment opportunity for a highly motivated Collection Manager to join the Museum at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal. The Project Collection Manager – Natural Sciences will support the delivery of new galleries and permanent exhibitions throughout Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum within scope of the Phase One Gallery Renewal Programme. They will be responsible for the expert physical care, handling, collection preparation, documentation and access to Auckland Museum’s natural science collections. Managed by the Senior Collection Manager – Natural Sciences at a project level, this role will work closely with the Project Manager, Curators and the Gallery Renewal team to develop and deliver galleries and associated projects.

The Project Collection Manager – Natural Sciences will play a vital role in the Museum’s key strategic Future Museum aspirations and help deliver on Auckland War Memorial Museum’s guiding principle of kaitiakitanga – providing care for the collections and stories entrusted to us. Your contribution will be key in sharing our collections with our communities and providing exciting and compelling exhibition experiences for visitors to Auckland Museum.
