Duties
The Project Digitisation Officer Australian Aboriginal Collections is accountable to the Senior Collection Manager, Anthropology, South Australian Museum for the assessment, mapping and migration of relevant ethnographic and archaeology data sets into a proprietary Collections Management System to ensure the effective management of all collection items as part of the Newmont Digitisation Project. The Digitisation Officer Australian Aboriginal Collections will work closely with collection managers, researchers and volunteers to ensure key collection components are audited, documented and imaged to museum and international standards. Working to agreed project priorities the Digitisation Officer will develop a program for digitally imaging content for both print and web based applications.
Special conditions
This is a contract vacancy up to 5/10/2018. Engagement in this role may be subject to a satisfactory Department for Communities and Social Inclusion Criminal History Check or National Police Check. A renewal will be required every 3 years. Out of hours work may be required. Intra state and interstate travel may be required. Handling and tracking delicate, often fragile objects.

Essential qualifications
Nil. However, a university degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as Anthropology, Art History or Museum Studies is highly desirable.
