Job Description:
The Project Officer – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement is responsible for developing engagement programs that connect with and seek input from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in relation to the content and visitor experiences for the New Museum. This includes designing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on engagement programs that support the New Museum Project’s Strategy for Public Engagement.

This position works in collaboration with others, including external partners, to encourage participation in and with the New Museum Project and ensure the interests, needs and expectations of Aboriginal peoples of WA are taken into consideration during the development of the Project.

Conditions:
This is a full-time, fixed-term vacancy until 30 June 2020. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool from which full-time, part-time, or fixed term appointments may be made.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate and a Working with Children Clearance will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.

Location:
This position is based in Perth however employees may be required to travel to and work from any of the Museum’s sites on a short-term basis as well as undertake travel to regional and remote communities.
