Working to the Buildings and Services Project Manager, the Project Officer will play an integral role in the delivery of strategic business improvements. The role will primarily support strategic oversight of the transition processes between the Development Project deliverables and handover to operational and maintenance, including but not limited to a ‘hands on role’ of documentation, defect identification and tracking; administrative support and consultation across stakeholders. This includes assisting the management and handover of document control including manuals, drawings and models in association with the Development Project.

Additionally, the Project Officer will support the broader facility team as required in the delivery of building, facility, accommodation, energy and environment project works.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of change management initiatives to ensure awareness and readiness for operational changes associated with the Development Project and other projects.
  • Assist in maintaining transition strategies, manuals, project documentation, including schedules, spreadsheets, registers, meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in contract management including developing scope, input to tendering processes and monitoring changes to contract inclusions.
  • Delivery of various projects in accordance with: Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Tenders, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
  • Coordinate delivery of workplace health and safety processes including contractor site induction, safe work method statement review and supervision, and safe handling and movement of a wide range of objects and equipment.
  • Support all operational aspects, and ongoing management of the buildings documentation library including associated implementation and staff training.
  • Assist in quality control in relation to project work handovers to Buildings and Services.
