Sydney Living Museums cares for 12 of the NSW most important historic houses, museums and their collections: Elizabeth Bay House, Elizabeth Farm, Government House, Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Justice & Police Museum, Meroogal, The Mint, Museum of Sydney, Rose Seidler House, Rouse Hill House & Farm, Susannah Place Museum and Vaucluse House. All are listed in the NSW State Heritage Register. The Museum of Sydney and the Hyde Park Barracks on the National Heritage list and the Hyde Park Barracks is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

About the role

The Project Officer Exhibitions & Travelling Exhibitions works as part of multidisciplinary project teams to support the travelling exhibition program, coordinate minor displays and projects and assist with the project management of all aspects of the development, production, design, installation and evaluation of nominated interpretation projects and major exhibitions.

Please provide an example of a successful exhibition where you played an integral part in a multidisciplinary project team. Describe your role in the team, the tasks you had to perform and the responsibilities assigned to you. What was the most valuable lesson you took away from that project?

The Project Officer – Exhibitions & Travelling Exhibitions works on concurrent projects while supporting and working with staff from several teams across multiple sites. The position is also specifically required to support the travelling exhibitions program and undertake a range of tasks including liaising with tour venues, preparing tour manuals and other exhibition material, condition reporting and packing artworks and objects for travel, analysing exhibition reports and feedback etc. Please describe the skills and abilities you would bring to these aspects of the role and outline your personal working style and organisational strategies that would allow you to successfully deal with this workload.
