About the Role
The Australian National Maritime Foundation (ANMF) is the philanthropic fundraising arm of the ANMM. The Foundation is a public company limited by guarantee and governed by a Board of Directors. The purpose of the Foundation, which has recently been reactivated, is to create a capital fund for the purpose of acquiring major additional items to develop the National Maritime Collection, to receive gifts and bequests and to support the National Maritime Collection and the museum generally. The American Friends of the Australian National Maritime Museum Inc. is the museum’s fundraising arm in the United States of America. This entity, which is governed by a Board of Directors, raises funds for approved acquisitions for the museum’s USA Gallery and Programs and other museum priorities.

The purpose of the position is to provide administration and project support for the Australian National Maritime Foundation, including the Board of Directors, and the museum’s philanthropy program. The position also provides administration support to the Executive Manager, Governance and Corporate Strategy, particularly in respect of the organisation for meetings of the Council of the Australian National Maritime Museum and other museum governance forums and processes as required.

Eligibility
This position is open to all eligible members of the community. To be an eligible member of the community you must be an Australian citizen. Applications may be accepted from Australian permanent residents who are in the process of acquiring Australian citizenship.

Notes

Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
