Under general direction, the Projects Officer works as part of a larger team that provides high level Section support and liaises with both Memorial staff and external contractors and consultants in the development and delivery of various Buildings and Services related projects, including Roll of Honour panel amendments. The work involves: project management; preparation and reporting of plans and budgets, contracts, schedules and ministerial submissions as well as exercising financial and administrative tasks as required, including those related to the Memorial’s Environmental Management system. Note: Project Management or Facilities experience is highly desirable for this role.
Responsibilities
Under general direction provide a range of Section support requirements including:
- Project management of internal and external stakeholders in the development and delivery of various Buildings and Services projects, including: Memorial buildings, grounds & facilities, heritage and conservation works of the Main Building, various strategic Site Development Plan and accommodation upgrades including managing the location and installation of commemorative plaques.
- Preparation and management of budgets, contracts, schedules, resource planning and administrative tasks as required, including identifying opportunities for improved working practices to reflect the changing environment of museums and cultural collections.
- Managing the program of amendments to the Roll of Honour panels.
- Co-ordinate the Memorial’s Environmental Management System including track and analyse the usage of the Memorial’s electricity, gas and water usage, and provide a secretariat to the Energy and Environment Committee.
- Delivery of projects in accordance with: Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Tenders, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards including management of the Memorials Heritage Management Plan, and consultation with approval authorities.
- Manual handling and movement of a wide range of objects as required.
