The Australian Museum (AM) operating within the NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment & Trade cluster, is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. About the role
You will report to the Head of Development and support the promotion and moves management of a strong donor prospect pipeline via prospective donor identification, research, and reporting. This role is best suited to someone with strong strategic and analytical skills in the field of philanthropy.
You will be hands-on with prospect research, developing and implementing strategies to support fundraising objectives for the Australian Museum. You will:
- Proactively develop and manage methods to identify philanthropic leads and prospects., supporting these with research and strategic insights
- Produce quality reports on prospective and current donors.
- Provide ongoing strategic support and information to support the moves management of both prospect and donor relationships.
- Create dynamic reports to track and analyse progress, success, and trends.
- Actively engage with and support the implementation of philanthropic best-practice within the team.
- Be a subject matter expert of the CRM software, Tessitura to drive and enhance the use of this database in a manner that directly contributes to successful philanthropic outcomes. This will include ensuring the integrity, accuracy and privacy of the database is maintained.
About you
You are a focused, curious, and data-driven individual experienced in fundraising. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the emerging field of insight-driven philanthropy by supporting the expanding development portfolio through research and analytics. This includes:
- Experience in a similar role with an ambition to drive philanthropic success through prospect research, data analysis and strategic acumen
- Experience in initiating and preparing detailed prospect and donor profiles to support the development of prospect and donor pipelines
- Interest in and curiosity for, fundraising and development best-practice, capable of exercising discretion where required
- Being a keen problem-solver with a growth mindset, focused on offering data-driven solutions to enhance the outputs of the development team
- Advanced data management and analytical skills, supported by strong written and verbal communication
- Aptitude for using CRM software (Tessitura preferred) as a reporting mechanism for development
- A keen interest in philanthropy and its broader social impact
