Canterbury Museum, located in the heart of Christchurch City, is a leading New Zealand museum which already attracts 700,000 visitors a year. At the core of the Museum is a world-class collection of well over 2 million treasures which drive exhibitions, story-telling and research. The collection is brought to life by a passionate, award-winning staff team of 75.

Since the devastating earthquakes of 2010-11 the Museum has taken a leading role in the city’s recovery. It has provided additional tourism attractions and a strong programme of popular, community-focussed events. These include the Quake City attraction in the Re:Start container shopping mall, Rebuild Zone bus tours, Nights at the Museum and the RISE Street Art Festival.
