Fish, frogs and a photographer, ABC News, 7 February 2020

Floating in the ocean at 1am with only a camera in your hand, waiting for coral to spawn is part of everyday life for Gary Cranitch.

The award-winning photographer has spent much of his long career with the Queensland Museum in the ocean.

From coming face-to-face with taipans, to balancing scuba tanks and cameras 35 metres under the sea, his images have helped scientists and the public learn more about the land and sea.

The Great Barrier Reef is his one of his true loves and hopes his work alongside some of the country’s top scientists will help preserve it for future generations.
