Questacon named Canberra’s best tourist attraction, Canberra Times, 11 December 2015

It makes science fun for more than one million people across Australia each year through its centre and outreach programs, and now Questacon has been named Canberra’s top tourist attraction.

The national science and technology centre was one of a host of businesses and events across the capital honoured at the 2015 Canberra Region Tourism Awards on Thursday night.

“Each year Canberra is growing in both its role as the national capital, but also increasingly as a tourist destination.”
Chief minister Andrew Barr commended this year’s winners for their innovation and excellence.
“A vibrant tourism sector is essential to our visitor economy and as we aim to grow overnight tourism expenditure in the ACT to $2.5 billion by 2020,” he said.

Award winners will represent the Canberra Region at the Australian Tourism Awards in Melbourne in February.
