This temporary Registrar role is accountable to the Head of Collections as part of the team responsible for the History Trust of SA’s contribution to the Cultural Institution Storage Facility (CISF) project. The temporary Registrar will contribute to the successful outcome of the project through collections management, data management, and collections care.
Key components of the role:
- Contribute to the successful outcome of the CISF project by undertaking collections management tasks including object handling, collections documentation, data input, and analysis.
- Provide improved standards of collections care by enhancing the quality and consistency of collections and image data, and documentation of processes.
- Apply collections management procedures including documentation and location controls.
Special Conditions: Physical work will be required in handling the State History Collection. Some out-of-hours work may be required. Occasional weekend work may be required. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
Essential Qualifications: Degree in a History, Museum Studies or related field.
Location: within Adelaide metropolitan area.
