Position Description 

The WA Museum is developing a New Museum at the Perth Cultural Centre site, scheduled to open in 2020.

Be part of the team helping to deliver one of the world’s most significant museum redevelopments.

Support the rollout of a centralised collection management database across the Museum’s cultural and scientific collections.

Coordinate the documentation and movement of collection objects for the New Museum project.

Conditions:

This is a full time, fixed term vacancy until 14 September 2017 with a possibility of extension.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.

Job Description:

As the Registration Officer you will be contributing to enhancing, coordinating and facilitating access to the Museum’s collections via a significantly enriched electronic catalogue and to support phases of content for the development and implementation of the New Museum Project. Collection information is of key strategic importance to the Museum as it prepares for the New Museum project. This role will focus on assisting to improve the quality and quantity of digital information about the Museum’s collections as well as assisting with their physical coordination as required for the New Museum Project.

Location:

This position is located at the Museum’s Collections and Research Centre at 49 Kew Street, Welshpool.
