The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a Ballarat-based not-for profit organisation that uses our history to inspire future generations to adapt for a better future through the work we deliver at Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Narmbool farm and the soon to open Australian Centre for Rare Arts and Trades and Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections.

Sovereign Hill is seeking dynamic Casual Relief Teachers to join our Learning Team for the commencement of the 2022 school year.  This is an exciting opportunity for skilled educators to deliver learning across our museum settings and within specific program areas such as:

Outdoor Museum: delivery of 50 minute Education Sessions to primary and/or secondary students utilising our museum spaces and the collection to connect them to colonial life, gold rush immigration, a changing society, technology and innovation. CRT’s are required to wear period costume.

Costumed School Program: two day, fully immersive, costumed school experience tailored for up to 35 Year 5 and 6 students. Students are in the charge of ‘Ma’am’ or ‘Sir’ who is strict, all knowing and the embodiment of 1850’s Victorian authority. Role play is central to the success of the program, once costumed, the students becomes a living exhibit in the Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum. CRT’s are required to wear period costume.

Narmbool Environmental Camp: delivery of programs that explore significant ecosystems such as pastures and grazing land, native bush and a variety of waterways. Narmbool is the perfect space in which to develop teams, build relationships and explore the environment.
