Job Description
The Research Development Executive will support the fundraising objectives of Auckland Museum, with special focus on the funding priorities of Auckland Museum’s Research Strategy. They will have a robust understanding of the fundraising and research priorities of the Museum. The focus will be on maintaining an up-to-date and accurate funding plan to enable timely, personalised and targeted funding applications and proposals, communications and events. This role is fixed term until September 2025.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience in fundraising, philanthropy and community engagement
- Outstanding relationship management
- Excellent communication skills including research, applications, reporting and presentations
- A positive flexible and collaborative mindset
- A minimum of five years administrative experience in the fundraising environment, ideally research-focused
- Exposure to a broad range of fundraising disciplines
- Experience within the New Zealand research funding environment
- Demonstrated success in relationship management, particularly in dealing with high level donors, family trusts and other social profit organisations
- Proven and extensive fundraising or relationship management database (CRM) experience with systems such as Tessitura or Raisers Edge
- Experience producing and writing accurate and detailed reports, budgets, funding applications and donor communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven effective relationship-building abilities
- Proven effective organizational skills, with the ability to successfully plan and prioritise workloads of self and others
