Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its extensive collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum’s stories.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Research Resources Coordinator that will be responsible for the coordination and support of research projects, and day-to-day research activities within the Collections & Research directorate. The position aids the Director and Heads of collection disciplines in the successful delivery of activities and research outcomes aligned with the Museum’s Research Strategy, Digital Channel Strategy and Gallery Renewal programme.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification relevant to the museum’s collections or research activities
  • Experience working in a research environment within the Gallery, Library, Archives or Museum sector
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating projects involving multiple internal participants
  • Ability to anticipate needs and follow with initiative
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbally and with the ability to write for a diverse range of audiences
  • Strong time management with the ability to multi-task and work within tight timelines
  • Knowledge of te reo Maori is desirable
  • Holds a passion for dynamic museums and for working in a cross functional team environment
