An exciting opportunity has arisen for an amazing Rights Officer to join our Collections Access team. This is a part-time (20 hours per week) and fixed-term position (12 months) which will play a key role in Te Papa’s digitisation programme. You will help meet the outcomes of the programme through the assessment of the copyright status of collection items, negotiation of licences with rights holders, and release of content for reuse where possible.

You will bring to the role:
•    Great attention to detail
•    Excellent research and record-keeping skills
•    The ability and confidence to correspond with a wide range of people (written and verbal)
•    An understanding of copyright and licensing
•    An understanding and appreciation of tikanga Māori
•    Enthusiasm for the mahi of the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums)
•    A tertiary qualification in a relevant subject (post-graduate qualification desirable)

This is an incredible chance for an individual who is interested in developing their knowledge of copyright and licensing in the context of the GLAM sector. You will be fully supported, with training provided to the successful candidate.

The starting salary for this position will be between $47,450 to $55,000pa. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and relativities with others in a comparable role in the band.
