The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the Facilities and Security Business Unit as a Risk Manager in the Corporate Operations Division. The Museum is seeking to engage an experienced Risk Manager working across several business units.  The position works under broad direction, reporting to the Head of Facilities and Security. The role will increase the maturity of risk management in the Museum ensuring the currency and application of strategic risk management and associated frameworks, developing risk management policies and procedures, risk-based business planning, and managing the Museum’s insurance relationship. The role will improve risk management capability and integration, promoting and delivering risk management education and awareness programs, and provide practical, operational support and guidance to managers and staff on risk-related matters.

The position will be responsible for the currency of the ICT risk management framework including the ICT disaster recovery and business continuity plans. It will include the development of ICT risk-based exercise scenarios and facilitate disaster recovery exercises.

To achieve an embedded, aligned risk culture, the occupant will work with the Governance area to integrate risk management into the Museum’s business planning processes and documentation suite.

The Risk Manager will develop and implement strategies to embed risk practices in the Museum’s culture and monitor and report on the organisation’s risk management performance and maturity. The role is also responsible for managing the fraud control framework and for business continuity planning and testing to ensure organisational resilience.

The successful candidate will be able to use judgement and initiative in decision-making and have strong analytical capabilities to resolve problems.  Your objectivity in relation to the Museum’s risk profile will ensure risk management is moderated across the organisation. A strategic thinker, you will focus on continuous improvement across the Museum’s culture of risk consciousness, appetite, and tolerance.
