Job Description
The role of the Safety & Security Officer is a highly responsible position protecting the museums’ people, property and assets by ensuring the safety of the museum, in addition to providing excellent service to the Museum’s customers.
The Museum is currently seeking a permanent and full-time Safety and Security Officer to join the team operating across the 24/7 rotating shift roster, offering 12-hour shifts.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this full-time position you will offer:
- Basic knowledge on relevant compliance laws related to the Museum and safety & security environment, in particular Cultural Safety & Security is desirable
- Demonstrated computer skills – Demonstrated competence on Microsoft Office and Windows 365 applications, Outlook and Explorer essential.
- Previous Integriti Access & Security Control Systems, IndigoVision surveillance systems software and analytics, Fire & Environmental Monitoring
- Control Systems usage and knowledge is highly desirable
- Highly developed and demonstratable competence in the operation of access, security, surveillance and surveillance analytics systems and software, radio and phone operations including vocal clarity in spoken English for an effective and modern high-spec operations control room
- A National Certificate of Competency in Security Operations Levels II, III and IV or equivalent recognised qualification/s is highly advantageous
- Current First Aid Certificate or the ability to successfully pass the relevant course to gain
- Demonstrated ability to work as a sole charge person, as well as part of an effective and motivated team
- Demonstrated ability to think laterally and creatively with high levels of situational awareness, to make sound informed decisions on the run
- A reasonable level of fitness consistent with the physical demands of the job
- A full and current drivers licence
