THE OPPORTUNITY:
The position is accountable for achieving defined sales targets which provide revenue growth through outbound sales, inbound sales, account management and developing marketing plans. This position will ensure a harmonious relationship between Museum Victoria’s clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders. This position oversees the design and execution of key stakeholder events across all sites.
Working alongside the Museum Space sales team at Melbourne Museum, key duties of this role include:
- Achieve sales targets which provide revenue growth; develop and implement sales strategies, including cold calling and responding to sales enquiries in a timely manner, identify target markets and achieve set targets; report on sales budgets and targets.
- Plan, lead and develop sales strategies to identify emerging audiences, encourage repeat business and enhance the sale of new products. Including commercial ticketed events.
- Complete outbound sales strategies including cold calling to meet financial targets.
- Provide detailed reporting on sales activity, targets and tracking to budget.
- Develop budget projections, reports and analysis for events and product sales.
- Represent Museums Victoria internally and externally in trade and other forums to drive new revenue opportunities and create new leads.
- Develop and propose business development initiatives that contribute to commercial objectives.
- Monitor and ensure that all events booked within Museums Victoria’s spaces align with the Museums Victoria brand and values.
- Assist with the coordination of Museum Spaces & Events venue sales and site inspections as required.
- Be the key point of contact for clients, caterers, suppliers and stakeholders and develop excellent working relationships.
- Using event/space management software Priava and working closely with internal stakeholders, administer and process all caterer and venue hire enquiries.
- Work collaboratively across the department and organisation to contribute to achieving the commercial and organisational objectives.
- Comply with Museums Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations and ensure Occupational Health & Safety standards are reinforced and maintained.
