Museums Victoria is seeking a highly motivated and organised function and event sales professional to work in the Museum Spaces and Events team. The successful candidate will have the business development skills and drive to achieve sales targets, delivering incremental growth through implementing sales initiatives. This includes the management of commercial and stakeholder opportunities across all Museums Victoria’s iconic venues: Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, Immigration Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building. With a passion for excellent customer service, the successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, have exceptional attention to detail and understand the importance of strong relationship management and working to deadlines.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The position is accountable for achieving defined sales targets that provide revenue growth through outbound sales, inbound sales, account management and the development of marketing plans. This position will ensure a harmonious relationship between Museum Victoria’s clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
Key duties of this role include:
- Achieve sales targets that provide revenue growth; develop and implement sales strategies including cold calling, responding to sales enquiries in a timely manner, identifying target markets and achieving set targets; reporting on sales budgets and targets.
- Plan, lead and develop sales strategies to identify emerging audiences, encourage repeat business and enhance the sale of new products, including commercial ticketed events.
- Complete outbound sales strategies including cold calling to meet financial targets.
- Provide detailed reporting on sales activity, targets and tracking to budget.
- Develop budget projections, reports and analysis for events and product sales.
- Represent Museums Victoria internally and externally in trade and other forums to drive new revenue opportunities and create new leads.
- Develop and propose business development initiatives that contribute to commercial objectives.
- Monitor and ensure that all events booked within Museums Victoria’s spaces align with the Museums Victoria brand and values
