Job Description:

The History Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join the curatorial team as Senior Curator to contribute to the planning, research and development of exhibitions, public programs, collections, education and digital content.

The History Trust of South Australia offers an opportunity to work across the National Motor Museum, the Migration Museum and the South Australian Maritime Museum.

Key components of the role:

  • Plan, research, develop and coordinate the delivery of audience-centred History Trust programs, including exhibitions, collections, and public, education and digital, that engage, inform, entertain and inspire our visitors.
  • Coordinate the research, communication and contemporary relevance of assigned areas of (South) Australian history and the State History Collection to broad audiences.
  • Provide curatorial advice and expertise to inform the development of community engagement programs and capacity building within the History Trust’s South Australian history network.

Essential Qualifications:
Degree in a History, Museum Studies or related field.

Special Conditions:
Some out of hour’s work may be required. Occasional weekend work may be required. Engagement in this role is subjected to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Travel between the 3 museums and the CBD office is required. Intrastate travel may be required, and current driver’s licence is essential.
