We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join the Museum at a time when it is embarking on a major transformation with planning underway for the Museum’s longer term future in Parramatta. This represents a once in a generation opportunity to develop a twenty first century museum that responds to growth, and the changing shape of Sydney, and to contemporary methods of content delivery, learning and collaboration.

As Senior Curator, Contemporary, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering exhibitions and programs with a particular focus on contemporary curatorial practice. This role will be part of the curatorial leadership team with responsibility for managing and delivering audience-focused and critically acclaimed exhibitions as well as a comprehensive contemporary strategy.

This role will suit a dynamic, confident individual with solid experience in curating or developing high quality exhibitions, events and programs that inspire and communicate to a range of audiences. The candidate will also be an excellent communicator, acting as an ambassador for trans-disciplinary research and contemporary curatorial programming.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing contemporary events, programs and/or exhibitions and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will also be a well-respected member of the contemporary arts community with extensive industry networks and a strong background in stakeholder engagement with national and international partners.
