As Senior Curator, – Transport, Energy and Science you will lead a small team across The Workshops Rail Museum in Ipswich and Cobb and Co Museum in Toowoomba, to manage the transport, energy and science collections within the Cultures and Histories program. Highly professional and results-driven, the successful applicant will be a superior communicator with the ability to thrive in a dynamic cultural work environment. Bringing to the role an understanding of contemporary curatorial practice and experience in collection-based research, you will contribute to the collaborative research, public programs and exhibitions in accordance with the strategic priorities of Queensland Museum. In this role you will initiate, coordinate, and implement new research, and develop innovative exhibitions and public programs. Collection database and project management experience are highly desirable.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary, preferably postgraduate, qualifications in Australian Social History, Industrial Archaeology, History of Science or Transport or other closely related fields (e.g. Australian Studies, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies), from a recognised tertiary institution is required.

The Public Health and Social Measures linked to vaccination status Direction requires that from 17 December 2021, everyone (aged 16 years and over) entering Queensland Government-owned libraries, galleries and museums, including staff, must be vaccinated against COVID-19. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status to commence employment with Queensland Museum.

Employment screening criminal history, a Working with Children (Blue Card), and previous discipline history check will be undertaken.
