The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organised professional to join their passionate and dedicated Development and Friends team in the role of Senior Development Officer.

The key duties of the position include:

The Senior Development Officer will be responsible for increasing revenue from a range of philanthropic sources, including bequests, individuals and philanthropic foundations. They will also be responsible for management of a portfolio of donors and prospects, implementing industry best practice and using innovative strategies to increase acquisition and retention of donors. In addition, the Senior Development Officer will be responsible for developing communications across the Development and Friends team.

The Senior Development Officer will:

  • Work with the Program Manager of the Development and Friends team to create fundraising campaigns and strategies.
  • Plan, initiate and implement the annual appeal and other appeals and campaigns to meet the targets.
  • Maintain and further cultivate strong relationships and regular communication with philanthropic donors.
  • Ensure there is a high level of donor stewardship, and use Moves Management to promote donors through the donor pyramid.
  • Maintain and further cultivate strong relationships with donors and members.
  • Produce a range of reports to demonstrate the success of campaigns for the Program Manager of Development and Friends team and the Development Committee.
  • Maintain records and track progression through the database.
  • Work closely with the Membership Coordinator to identify ways members can transition to donors.
  • Be responsible for coordinating and delivering donor and prospect events to further cultivate prospects and encourage increased giving from current donors.
  • Represent the Museum at a range of networking and other events.
