We are looking for a creative individual to manage Te Papa’s Writing Team as we head into an exciting period of exhibition redevelopment, which will emphasise immersive storytelling and interactivity. Te Papa is a world-leading, bicultural, cross-disciplinary museum. The Writing Team are the museum’s storytellers, comprising seven permanent writers and editors, supported by temporary contractors. These people work primarily on exhibitions and related digital, education, and marketing products, helping to identify powerful stories and creating engaging text in English and MÄori.

Reporting to and supporting the Head of Exhibition Content, you will:
- be a key participant in re-imagining Te Papa’s exhibition experiences, collaborating with other interpretive staff to do so (eg, writers, curators, designers, multimedia producers, educators, public programmers)
- manage the publishing process for exhibition-related text, ensuring that the highest standards of storytelling are upheld
- oversee the provision of writing and editing services to other internal Te Papa teams, assuring the quality of core public-facing text.
- You might have a background in publishing for museums, print or digital media, education, film, television, or theatre.
Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Maori is an advantage.
