Museum Victoria is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager, Scienceworks & Immigration Museum to manage the facilities functions and strategic asset planning at the Museum’s Scienceworks, Immigration Museum, Moreland Annexe and Simcock Avenue sites, to lead a team of staff and contractors in delivering these functions, and to facilitate cross Departmental and Divisional planning for facilities related activities for the sites.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary accountability of this position is to manage, plan, develop and implement facilities and asset management activities including new works, maintenance, security and services programmes, providing safe, healthy and sustainable amenity for staff, visitors and the community.

The sites for which the incumbent is responsible are:

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated ability to document and implement the full range of programmes required to provide effective facilities services to a multi building campus site; including the application of risk management principles.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage staff through a period of change, and maintain effective levels of productivity during the process.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary professional teams, which may include architects, engineers and project managers, in delivering a project which meets the organisation’s objectives.
  4. Experience in the specification and documentation of contracts for facilities projects and services.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the implications of the OHS Act (Vic) 2004, Environmental Management Systems, and Conservation Management Plans for heritage listed structures.
  6. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills; includes a demonstrated capacity to provide written reports on complex issues and present effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  7. A working knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project, and the capacity and willingness to under-go training on other packages, with particular reference to building management systems.
  8. The successful applicant is required to undergo, and for new employees meet the cost of, a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable.
