Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking two enthusiastic and values-driven individual to undertake the administration of finance operations and transactions (accounts payable) within the Finance Department.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Finance Officer Operations will be to provide timely, efficient and accurate reconciliation, reporting, processing, and payment of financial accounts (accounts payable) in line with established compliance requirements and to coordinate and support the delivery of these services with process improvements.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Process invoices in a timely and efficient manner under MV’s policies and procedures.
- Process weekly domestic EFT payment runs; international invoice payments accurately and on a timely basis.
- Provide support to the Finance Operations Supervisor and coordinate, review and approve the work of other staff; and post transactions to the system for the funds to be released.
- Support the delivery of Finance related services through processing a range of financial transactions, including the occasional cross-functional duties to mitigate operations risks within Finance Operations.
- Complete Travel related and General Claims (Personal Claims) accurately and on a timely basis.
- Conduct AP month-end processes accurately and on a timely basis.
- Administer creditor queries and reconciliations of creditor statement.
- Review Accounts Payables Monthly Ageing Report.
- Provide advice to staff on the application of Museums Victoria financial policies and procedures and compliance requirements
- Provide customer-focused finance services to clients, including Museums Victoria staff and external stakeholders; develop and maintain excellent relationships with these clients.
- Liaise and cooperate with key internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and identify opportunities to deliver appropriate services and information; make recommendations to the Finance Operations Supervisor, which improve services to stakeholders.
- Comply with Museums Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations.
The successful applicants will have the following attributes:
- Demonstrated experience administering finance and corporate systems, including meeting deadlines, providing business analysis and coordination, and successfully implementing development activities.
- Demonstrated experience in a system administrator role for the finance function in a similar-sized organisation, with exposure to various related systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proactively identifying user needs and implementing improvements to meet those needs.
- Ability to provide and communicate written and verbal advice on systems and processes to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment.
- Sound knowledge of financial management principles. Preferably with accounting qualifications or working towards an accounting qualification.
