As one of Sydney’s most visited museums, the Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) is committed to being a world leader in maritime history, sharing the national maritime story across Australia and providing a must-visit museum experience. Starting with the opening of the ANMM’s Warships Pavilion, the museum is undergoing a major onsite transformation. To support this expansion and change, the ANMM is recruiting the following key finance roles. Successful candidates will be CA/CPA qualified and recognised not only for their proven financial skills, but also for their business intelligence, commercial acumen and ability to contribute to the dynamic culture of the museum.

Head of Finance – Reporting to the Deputy Director Corporate Services, you will operate with a high level of autonomy and under broad direction to support the executive team in achieving its ambitions. You will be responsible for managing all internal and external financial reporting and analysis, legislative, taxation and other requirements, and will work to continually improve the ANMM’s forecasting, analysis and risk management processes as it drives forward with its strategic priorities. The right candidate will be a forward-looking, innovative and dynamic finance leader.

Finance Business Partner – As an integral senior member of the Finance team and reporting to the Head of Finance, you will partner with the ANMM’s Assistant Directors and business unit managers to provide accurate financial data, reporting and business intelligence to support and inform strategic decision making during this exciting period of transformation. You will apply your in depth knowledge of best practice methodologies to undertake complex data analysis and implement a comprehensive business planning, operations and capital budget management and forecasting process.

Manager Risk and Reporting – Supporting and reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure ANMM meets all external financial and compliance reporting requirements in accordance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision making processes and agency guidelines and regulations. You will be responsible for managing the preparation of the ANMM’s Annual Financial Statements and Council reporting, submitting all financial, KPI and other reporting requirements to government, attending to internal and external audit requirements and ensuring sound risk management and governance processes are in place.

Notes

Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
