The National Museum of Australia established the Cultural and Corporate Shared Services Centre (CCSSC) in 2017 to provide a range of corporate and business services to small agencies across the APS, particularly in the arts sector. The CCSSC provides high-quality, needs-based services for partner agencies including finance, payroll, ICT, business systems, and media services as well as joint procurement where relevant.

The CCSSC is committed to working collaboratively and transparently with all its partner agencies.

As the Senior Governance Officer, you will:

  • Assist with preparation of papers and coordinate Governance board meetings with CEOs of partner agencies; six-monthly performance reports for partners agencies; report to the Museum’s Executive and prepare Council papers as required; maintain issues and risk registers.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Executive, senior managers and external stakeholders and act as the central point of contact in the CCSSC Office for external agencies.
  • Liaise with service areas for technical and budget advice and to monitor and continuously improve service quality for partner agencies.
  • Perform secretariat duties including meeting coordination, taking minutes and action items.
  • Perform research tasks, develop policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and broader governance and management activities of the CCSSC at the direction of the Strategy and Engagement Manager.

The successful candidate will bring a range of skills and experience including:

  • Experience performing a service role, including administration activities and the application of professional customer service.
  • Knowledge in the implementation, support and operation of IT, HR, Finance, Records management and AV/Media services.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and limited direction, to solve or escalate problems, multi-task and manage competing priorities amongst a range of stakeholders.
  • A strong history of delivering high-quality work on schedule that meets requirements.
  • Strong verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and an ability to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to represent the Museum and the CCSSC in a range of forums both internally and externally.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reporting on service levels for services provided, agency usage and capacity trending for corporate services..
  • Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety issues.
