Duties
The Senior Historian performs a range of high-level research and writing tasks under the limited direction of the Head of the Military History Section in support of Australian War Memorial military history publications, conferences, exhibitions, multimedia products and related projects, presenting the findings of research and the dissemination of military history information. The Senior Historian also undertakes a range of management tasks and represents the Memorial through media and conference presentations, and liaison with stakeholder groups and other agencies at the appropriate level.
Notes
A postgraduate qualification in military history or another relevant field is highly desirable. A substantial publication record in relevant fields, including significant research and publication in the military history of one or more major conflicts, would be advantageous.
Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified task
This vacancy will be filled for a specified task of approximately 2.5 years to undertake Senior Historian duties associated with a specific funding source.
