THE OPPORTUNITY:
Museums Victoria, Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Senior Marketing Officer as a full time, ongoing role.

We are looking for a highly skilled marketing professional with the passion, drive and experience to create, develop and deliver a mix of effective and persuasive promotional campaigns, building audience awareness, engagement with our brand and programs, driving visitation and revenue. A team player, you will be experienced in content creation, working with external designers to create marketing activities that drive a strong return on investment builds audiences across multiple locations; enhancing the contribution and connection to Museums Victoria’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
Working with the Marketing & Communications team, core duties of this position include:
- Planning, developing and implementing targeted promotional campaigns and brand communications to support cross-functional teams
- Content planning and execution across bought, owned and shared channels developing integrated digital marketing plans, including development of eDMs, web content, organic and paid social media
- Preparing and analysing post campaign reports, including ROI/commercial return reports to support decision making for existing and future campaigns
- Managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers and monitoring spend to achieve ROI.
- Gatekeeping all current and future brand assets to ensure they comply with the MV style guide and are up to date and delivered with excellence to uphold and strengthen the MV reputation in market
- Plan and develop photographic or video projects, liaising with and project managing campaigns
- Planning, leading and developing marketing onsite signage
Developing marketing and bought media briefs for agencies based on audience requirements and key objectives
Supporting Marketing Managers on large-scale campaign asset roll outs, ensuring that they are delivered on time and with excellence
Relevant skills and attributes:
Strong understanding and proven experience developing promotional campaigns delivered across complex bought, owned and shared digital media and marketing channels;
- Strong understanding and experience of brand work – both internal (brand strategy) and external (branded campaigns, asset management etc.)
- Strong experience and knowledge of bought, owned and shared channels and how to leverage a variety of channels as part of a holistic marketing mix
- Well developed digital marketing skills, including development and scheduling of social media content (organic and bought), integrated with web content and eDM creation and delivery
- Well developed stakeholder management skills, developing and nurturing relationships with internal colleagues and external suppliers
- Strong understanding and experience of planning and implementing audience-focused content across a variety of channels
- A results-driven marketer, focused on audience engagement, with proven ability working in a fast-paced marketing role
- Previous experience managing marketing budgets, tracking spend, targets and ROI
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write design briefs, media briefs and tactical marketing plans that communicate ideas succinctly and with purpose (led by key objectives)
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
- A self-motivated individual with the desire to thrive within a new role
- A strong eye for detail and the ability to deliver assets with aesthetic excellence
