The Australian Museum is undertaking Project Discover, a major renovation which will enhance the museum experience for the public, embracing the historic building and blending it with state-of-the-art facilities for visitors and provides further opportunities for exceptional exhibitions. The AM plans to re-open in Spring 2020. To reach this goal there are a number of distinct projects requiring outstanding skills in project management.
We are excited to offer a Senior Project Officer position. In this role you will have two priorities:
- You will provide oversight, planning, coordination and guidance across a portfolio of projects including ICT, financial, retail, logistics, pricing and building coordination.
- Manage the major project dealing with operational readiness for the AM’s re-opening including developing project plans, in collaboration with key delivery partners, and leading and managing stakeholder relationships through effective communication strategies.
The number and breadth of projects require well developed communication and project coordination skills to ensure key audiences are engaged and informed and each project achieves successful outcomes
Essential Requirements
To be successful in the role you will be agile, flexible and have the ability to drive collaboration within business units. Along with managing competing priorities, and strong problem solving skills it is essential that you can demonstrate
- Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive work experience in project management and governance or
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Program Management Office and at least 5 years’ project management experience.
