About the role
As part of the Strategy and Governance team, this role is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of compliant Work Health and Safety (WHS), and governance practices across the Western Australian Museum through effective management of stakeholders, information, policy and procedures.

The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Consult widely across all WA Museum sites through various communication channels to gain input on WHS matters, provide expertise, and support business areas to manage their WHS and compliance outcomes.
- Review and improve current policies, systems, and processes to ensure that the Museum has compliant practices relating to the WHS Act 2020, risk management, and governance, as changes occur.
- Independently research and assess practical application of WHS and other relevant laws, frameworks, and regulations, identifying and making recommendations on best-fit integration for the WA Museum.
- Prepare a range of professional written communications including reports, briefing papers, PowerPoint presentations, learning materials and online hubs/pages.
- Assist with building capability across the Museum of the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain a healthy and safe workplace culture.
- Act as Executive Officer to Committees, Working Parties and Reference Groups.
