ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to provide specialist technical services including supervising the installation, operation, maintenance and development of technical infrastructure to facilitate the delivery of digital media experiences in Museum Victoria exhibitions, galleries and public spaces.

Notable skills and experiences:
- Proven ability in the operation of computers based on Windows operating systems and a working knowledge of computer networking techniques.
- Respond to requests for DMS technical support and administer MV Helpdesk for the DMS team by assigning tasks, prioritising. combining duplicate tasks and ensuring that team members record necessary data and close off completed tasks
- Schedule and supervise the completion of planned maintenance duties ensuring that they are performed to a high standard, documented and reported on.
- Maintain staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage of technical support at all venues on a 7 day a week rotation.
- Provide supervision of work carried out by DMS technicians to ensure that it is completed to a high level of quality and in a timely manner
- Perform trouble shooting and repairs on installed digital media equipment requiring a high level of technical expertise.
- Undertake and oversee installation of digital media systems in exhibitions and public spaces being accountable for quality of work.
- Co-ordinate the purchasing of stores and maintain work areas and store-rooms.
- Lead the DMS department in the production and deployment of digital content across multiple platforms.
- Support the safe operation of Digital Media Systems activities through the contribution to risk and hazard management plans, working to safety processes and in accordance with Museum Victoria health & safety management policy.
- Participate in the planning of digital media exhibits, presentation spaces and refurbishments, leading project teams and overseeing installation.
- Project manage and lead the delivery of self-contained projects under the direction of the Manager, Digital Media Systems.
- Use expert knowledge in the field of audio-visual and exhibition multimedia to convey concepts and original ideas to museum colleagues, suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards and research new technologies to support the objectives of the Department.
- Maintain documentation relating to maintenance, stores and registered assets.
- Comply with Museum Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations
