Duties
Reporting to the Head of Interpretation and Design, you will plan and co-ordinate the preparation, fabrication, installation, maintenance and de-mounting of exhibitions.
On a day-to-day basis, you will plan staffing resources for touring exhibitions, liaise with staff and prep teams at other museums to coordinate the install, complete movement requisition forms, identify and book travel and accommodation for preparators on tour and collaborate with the Production and Lighting Manager to procure tools, materials and supplies for the workshop.
Ideal applicants will have:
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the preparation, fabrication, installation, maintenance and de-mounting of exhibitions.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in supervising short-term contractors on multiple projects.
- Experience working with freight forwarders/transport companies during loading and unloading of exhibition freight including crates, showcases and exhibition structures.
- Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of Work Health and Safety standards
- White card
- Forklift license
- First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
- Experience with Microsoft applications (word and excel)
- Excellent communication skills

Eligibility
Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
