The History Trust of SA is recruiting for a Senior Visitor Engagement Officer for the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. Duties:
The Senior Visitor Engagement Officer is responsible for the delivery of visitor services and ensures the effective and efficient day to day operations and functions of the museum, and managing Visitor Engagement Officer (NMM) team members.
Key Role Components:
- Deliver the core visitor experience at the museum including ensuring business opportunities are followed up and appropriately managed and advise on the procedures and practices to support the delivery of safe and professional guided tours and education programs.
- Assist with the administrative needs of the museum operations and provide assistance as directed by the Senior Visitor Engagement Manager (NMM).
- Adopt a collaborative approach to working with all HTSA museums.
- Coordinate the ongoing professional development of the Visitor Engagement Officer team at the museum.
- In collaboration with the Visitor Engagement Administration Officer (NMM), take a collaborative approach to working with other HTSA museums assisting the alignment, planning and streamlining of services, business operations and visitor experience initiatives.
- Apply high standard of customer service and actively promote, encourage and participate in a positive workplace culture.
- Prepare, plan and present guided tours and education-focussed program activities for all visitors to the museum and online.
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries and liaison with key stakeholders.
Special Conditions
Weekend work will be required. Some out of hours work may be required. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required and a current driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
Essential Qualifications:
Desirable – Qualifications in related fields, such as History, Education and/or Tourism.
